The new Interconti Hotel at the Obersalzberg in Berchtesgarden is surrounded by an amazing world of mountains. That´s why the extreme weather conditions during the planning process had to be considered. They afforded not only a high-quality heat insulation for winter and summer, but also influenced the planning of materials and construction methods for the building shell. The high-quality sun-glazing, indoor glare shields and either the roof and ceiling bulges avoided outdoor shading devices. Additionally, the operators´ high-standard demands on the sound insulation for the suites and the guestrooms as well and the acoustic requirements for the convention areas had to be planned. Because of the massive crosswall construction good results were achieved during the final sound level measurement.
