In spring 2004, BRT won the urban competition for a building ensemble with various kinds of use like offices, flats and a hotel for congresses. The main focus of the BRT competition team was on economical efficiency, ecology and a reduced energy need. For this, the vertical façade surfaces were closed with a bearing multi-functional element constructed of a u-shaped pre-factored concrete part in which the façade was flush integrated. The static heating areas and optional local ventilation units are integrated within the façade. At this project DS-Plan exemplarily showed its quality of an integral and successful competition consultancy. The interfaces between façade technique, room conditioning, energy concept and building physic has not be covered by the architects as it was handled within the internal cooperation of the engineers of DS-Plan.
